Chapter Five
She picks herself up off the ground. Slowly. One piece at a time. She isn't sure what to feel. Is he coming back? Is she completely wrong to think that? Who the hell did he think he was just leaving like that? She doesn't know what to do. With that thought she once again collapses onto the floor in a crying heap of wet tears.
Slowly, she once again picks herself up. Her anger had flowed away leaving an empty void that was being rapidly filled with fear. A lonely fear that left her alone in the house with nothing to do.
"I'm so scared. He's never coming back. How can I blame him? I was a bitch, an asshole, a royal prick to him. How stupid was I to think he was with that intern? He loves me and I know that. He wouldnt touch me with such a wonderfully gentle touch if he didn't. Its not possible." All of this was comprehendable only in her mind as her sobs forced her words into incomprehensible bursts of air."
She opens the door, still crying, but ready to go find him and apologize. She had no other choice she thought. Her feet never crossed the threshold.
